These word ladders are a valuable tool for helping students improve their phoneme manipulation skills. With 20 word ladder cards included, along with recording sheets, this resource provides an engaging and effective way to practice substituting phonemes in words.
To use the cards, each student receives a word ladder card and a recording sheet. Starting at the bottom of the ladder, the student writes their first word. From there, they move up each rung, making a new word by changing one phoneme at each step. By the end of the activity, each student should have a ladder of seven words.
Ladders are numbered for easy reference.
