Introducing our comprehensive package designed for Year 4 students studying English/HASS – the perfect tool for teaching persuasive writing!
This persuasive writing resource is aligned with the Australian Curriculum and is designed to help students plan, create, edit and publish a persuasive text.
Our resource includes an information text, ‘The Great Pacific Garbage Patch’ (in both colour and B&W), along with reading comprehension questions to test students’ understanding of the text. Additionally, we have included a Tier 2 vocabulary list with definitions, as well as a blank vocabulary list for students to fill in themselves.
To help guide students through the persuasive essay writing process, we have included a Persuasive Essay Task Sheet, Persuasive Essay Text Structure, Persuasive Essay Text Planner (2 arguments & 3 arguments), Persuasive Essay Language Features, Persuasive Essay Emotive Phrases, Success Criteria, and examples of evidence, explanation, giving an example, and a counter argument.
Furthermore, our resource provides students with a list of 10 ways to reduce plastic use, and exemplar texts for both 2 argument and 3 argument essays, allowing students to see firsthand how to structure and write a persuasive essay.
